Hey guys, its been a while since I posted something in the blog or as news so I figured now would be a good time. Today we had a developer meeting that consisted of us just talking for 2 and a half straight hours about the mod on ventrilo. Needless to say, a lot of developers got plenty of work done while I rambled on. We talked mainly about 1.0e and 1.1 and how we are progressing with both.
In regards, to 1.0e we will be releasing a news post about it as well as showing off some 1.1 media this week. We are doing daily testing this week to make sure that we get a stable linux build ready for next week. This week we are working on wrapping up 1.0e and sticking any last features that people have been asking for in the input forum so that we can focus on 1.1 without people complaining about taking too long to patch the SR25 and other damage issues. Bob has also programmed a rather nice weapon blacklist that servers can utilize in case something slips in regards to weapon balance. Server admins will be able to limit or ultimately remove the unbalanced weapon, though I don't think this will be necessary. Bob is also going to be adding a kill column for you competitive gamers, so you can check out your KDR. Along with all of that, SteveUK and undertone are going to be working on hit indicators, so you know which direction you are being shot from. All together, 1.0e is going to be a great build, especially with the accuracy fixes, armor fixes, and everything else that has been slipped in to help make FAS a better game for you.
Now in terms of FAS 1.1, we have ridiculous amounts of fresh content for you guys. We have as many maps as we do new weapons, which is insane! Needless to say, 1.1 is going to be probably the best mod ever. We are going to have aimpoint and suppressors on almost all of the weapon that allow them, so that we can ease you into our new attachment system. Every release after 1.1 will include a new list of attachments that you can purchase for each weapon. During the meeting today, we talked about the implementation of the attachment system, the new weapons and how they are moving along, and about all the new maps we have to test. So get ready for 1.0e, we will make sure to get a news post out this week. Hopefully this will tide you over for 1.1.
