Server Connection Issues

I am having issues joining servers getting a "connection failed after 4 tries error"

I have checked my firewalls and have the full version and patch f installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, I am not sure if we can help you out with that. That usually is a network problem with the Source Engine. The only thing I would suggest is looking at Valve support. Also make sure that an antivirus programming is restricting your connection: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...9828-SFLZ-9289.

Can you join any other valve games?

Actually I had the same problem last night and so did everyone else who tried to play FA:S, although I was able to join a game using the "Join player" feature on steam. I hope this is an isolated indecent.

EDIT: I was able to play other source mods and TF2 as this occurred.

i cant seem to get onto the severs either, the map thingy box is unticked i have the sdk support 2007 thingy installed has well???? i have also disabled my anti virus and still no luck, in the sver search its saying no internet game respound to the query? yet all my filters are clear... any ideas ? i really loved this game and i really want to play it again!!!

p.s i only installed steam to play this game lol, so i have no idea how steam actually works Ooi just clicked play now , also i know 100% that the required pack is in, btw i have the full exe 1.0e installed and the 1.0f installed has well

Would suggest making a new topic instead of using an old one for the future.

Did the game work before? If this is your first time, you also need Source SDK Base 2007 (which comes with almost any Source based games) to run FAS. Assuming that is what you're missing - since you just installed Steam.

If you don't have any Source based games on your Steam Account - you will most likely have to buy one. I'm not sure if it is free yet with Team Fortress 2 - otherwise the cheapest option is buying Half Life 2: Deathmatch, and then downloading the Source SDK Base 2007.

i have sorce sdk sorce 2007, has far has i can tell i have everything i need, btw sdk source 2007 free to download now via steam, i connect going throught steam then veiw->severs, and set my filter to get firearms severs but i cant get anything to come up when i am actually in firearms....

Hmm, not sure what the issue is. So - you can completely open/run the mod - but when you try find a server to join, nothing shows up?
First - do servers show up for other Source games, or is it only FAS? Could be your firewall blocking Steam - check this topic on Steam Support.

Could be wrong versions (though you do say you did install 1.0E and then 1.0F) - when setting the game filters does it say "Firearms: Source 1.0f"?.

it seems to be only fa, and ye in game it says firearms source 1.0f

And the mod is installed under SourceMods/fas ?
