Oh, why hello there! I didn’t hear you come in. Have a seat; I was just getting my leaf blower out to dust this place off. I’ve been hard at work [ed. note: “hard” and “work” are under dispute] on some FA:S projects such as a new weapon selection menu, a new skill selection menu, and other very advance [ed. note: “advance” is also under dispute] projects. I was traded to this team for my UI and mod saving skills, and let me assure you, that bag of peanuts they had to gave up for me did not go to waste! The new menus are near completion but unfortunately I can’t show you them yet. They are still going under last minute tweaks and, just between you and me, it’s the most important part of the mod and if it is leaked then we might as well pack it up and go home. Their developments have been long and hard like many other things of mine. Lost a lot of good men (women all came back though) but all of us on the team agree the end result is awesome looking and think you all will enjoy it over the old black and white vector boxes. Once we get it implemented into the test builds and listen to the testers critiques (I’d like to see them critique perfection) I’ll see about getting some images out and going into some more detail about the menus. I know you all are dying to see such an exciting part of the mod!
Besides my academy award winning menus I also started work on new crosshairs for the scoped weapons. The scope frame is completed but only one set of crosshairs are done. The goal is to have weapon specific crosshairs but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I mean come on! Who do you think we are, Valve? Haha cake…. Anyways the new M24 (that’s a sniper rifle) scope is in the current test build. It is a mil dot version but still needs some tweaks. As one of our testers do eloquently put it, “the new crosshair looks like anal beads.” Only the best for our boys. Again I know you can barely contain your excitement for this groundbreaking new look to FA:S but you’ll just have to keep your pants on (ladies can keep them off) cause it may be a while til I can post screen shots of it. More than likely I’ll just end up in a news post. It might have already been in an news post for all I know, I mean really, who looks at the front page anymore?
Some of you may be asking, but Maddog, what does a handsome, single guy like you do when he’s not spending 10 hours a day working on FA:S? Good question I’d reply. Lately I’ve been devoting a lot of time to school work (drugs are whack, stay in school). Since I know you all have read my autobiography about me being an Animation major, I don’t think I need to say how excited I’ve been lately since we started getting our hands pants deep into 3D modeling. We spent the first part of the semester learning After Effects and Flash to get the basic software principles done and understood first and foremost. But now we are doing 3D and you sure do lose track of time when you get engrossed in it (seriously it’s like friggin Narnia). So far I’ve been dominating the projects and getting about 3 horse lengths in front of the pack coming into the final stretch, but I mean come on, it’s me, who didn’t see my domination coming.
