Thread: Alternative to steam DL of Source SDK Base 2007

  1. Alternative to steam DL of Source SDK Base 2007

Trying to install FAS, but can't download the Source SKD Base 2007 because the steam servers are busy (last night and this morning).

Is it possible to download the SDK from another website and reliably install it so FAS will run? Or should I play it safe and wait for the steam servers?

I have tried changing my download location with no luck.

Steam Servers Are Currently Unavailable or Too Busy
    Question

I receive the message The Steam Servers are currently unavailable. Please try again later. or The Steam Servers are too busy while using Steam - what should I do?
    Answer
    Change your Download Region

Try changing your Download Region to see if it affects the issue:
    On Windows

    1. Start Steam
    2. Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads tab
    3. Under Download region, select a different but relatively close region.
    4. Try launching or installing the game once more

    On Mac

    1. Start Steam
    2. Click on Steam > Preferences > Downloads tab
    3. Under Download region, select a different but relatively close region.
    4. Try launching or installing the game once more

    Hope this helps.

I would not suggest downloading Source SDK Base 2007 from any 3rd party site. Download it directly from Steam to be safest and up to date. Only way to be sure.

As for the Steam servers being too busy, changing the location is pretty much the only thing you can do. Can't really think of any reason the Steam servers would be so busy at the moment. Might be an issue on their side.

  4. Thanks for the replies, I got it working using a steam server program (AU) of some kind:

    Seems to work for now.
