Thread: Gun Jamming?

  1. Gun Jamming?

This is my first post. I've been playing FA:S the last few days. I have had a few bugs and I wanted to post here about them. I have repeatedly had a situation where my gun seems to "jam." I suppose that maybe that's kind of realistic, but at the same time I'm pretty sure it's an unintentional bug. It only happens sometimes, and it has occurred with several different guns. I would press the mouse button to attempt to fire, but the gun would not fire, and I have now died from this three or four times. It hasn't happened often, but it has been a problem. I think every time I have been able to correct it just by letting go of the mouse button and pressing again, but since they usually see me about the same time I see me, they are usually able to kill me. I don't know what the problem is. Last night someone asked me some questions about it, such as whether I was selecting another weapon at the time, or using the mouse scroll, or was out of bullets, but this was not the case. It only happens sporadically though, so I can't duplicate reliably.

Hmm, it sounds like it may be an issue caused by bringing up the overview map for artillery. When you open the overview map it grabs your mouse input, so the click after that wouldn't be listened properly, so that may be the issue. It is a known issue, and we are looking to get rid of the requirement of an overview map for artillery as a way to make both artillery more intuitive as well as getting rid of this bug. If this is not the issue, then it would be helpful if you could try to replicate it for us or if anyone else may know how to replicate it, that would be helpful as well.

  3. You guessed exactly right. I tested it just now and it is the map that's keeping me from firing. I'll have to remember that for the future, until the bug gets fixed.
