    Two Types of Voice Communication

Team Voice Comm - Only talk to your team.
Global Voice Comm - Talk to everyone.

Options > Multiplayer, has an option to always mute the other team.

Color for Global Voice Comm is Green, Red for Red Team, Blue for Blue Team, Gray for Spectators.

I'm not sure if voice com is something that can be changed as part of the sdk. Certainly I'd like it to display the persons name that's speaking.

As for the global vs team there's always sv_alltalk but you need rcon for that.
[RS] Rebel Smurfs, blue heaven since '97.

Im aware of sv_alltalk, but if its enabled, it ruins an team work aspect of voice com. Not only can the other team hear you, but the big speaker over your head gives you away.

  4. sv_alltalk is really horrible in my opinion, unless its just a friendly game of "fuck'em up"

All Talk is fun with a bunch a friends on and messing around, but it is not something I'd want to see all the time.

This is why most servers, like the one I'll probably run once the mod is out, will have their own voice comm servers, like our ventrilo.

As per OP, there is the option to mute the entire opposing side, if desired.

While its great clans can use their own vent for situations like that, its better if all the tools needed for community interaction are included with the game. Needing third party software for basic communication needs slows down community developmet and, worse case senario, prevents it.

The problem with this coding endeavor is that we are not given the proper source code to mess around with the voice chat. So we are unable to touch it IIRC.
